Carpet / Old Material Removal
Carpet, pad, tack strips, and staples are removed. Tread surfaces are cleaned of adhesive and debris.
Tread Assessment & Repairs
Cracked, split, or structurally compromised treads are replaced before sanding begins.
Sanding
Treads and risers are sanded by hand and orbital sander to bare, smooth wood.
Staining & Finishing
Optional stain is applied; 2–3 coats of finish are applied with drying time between coats.
Final Inspection
We inspect every tread for quality, confirm color match, and walk through the finished staircase with you.

What We Use on Every Project
We use the same finishes on staircases as on floors: Bona Traffic HD for high-durability commercial-grade protection. Treads can be stained to match your existing floors using any standard Duraseal or Bona stain colors. For replacement treads, we match species (typically oak) and thickness to the originals.
